{Honeymoon} Wear

With a short week and our honeymoon getaway looming, there's little else on my mind this week than our trip. Focus on work wear has certainly gone out the window - all I'm doing is mentally packing and repacking my vacation suitcase.

The spring collection from Mara Hoffman is making it a very easy task.

I'm so excited to rely on dresses while we're in Europe - a total departure from my usual day-to-day look

I hope you find the opportunity to dress up this week luvies.

Happy short week!

Happy {Loooong} Weekend!

Wow, Memorial Day already. How did that happen? Where did the first half of this year go?!

This weekend it's another wedding for me - but not mine this time, I swear.

I'm looking forward to the beautiful outdoor affair - especially since I didn't plan it. ;)

And if you're looking for inspiration for your own fete this holiday weekend, check out my guest post at over at design magazine At Home Arkansas

I hope you're doing something marvelous with your extra day off my dears!

Cheers luvies,

Anchors Away

My dears, I admit I might be off trend here but when I came upon Daytrip Society, a brilliant online variety shop based in Maine, I was immediately smitten with all of their anchor-based gear. Anchors are still cool right??

Well, even if anchors aren't the hot thing anymore, I'm loving these options. They're quite sea-worthy if you ask me! You can check out even more here

Wedding Wednesday {Going On Our Honeymoon!}

Ok, ok, I know what you're thinking. Wasn't a destination wedding enough? Or maybe we'd be done after our hometown reception? It would have been easy to just stop there, but I decided to head my father's advice and take a full fledged honeymoon while I had the chance.

So very soon we depart, yet again, this time for a trek through Europe and I could not be more excited. Our first stop: Amsterdam!

It's a homecoming of sorts, as my grandmother immigrated to the United States from the Netherlands in 1932. I cannot wait to go on a bike ride, take a boat down the canals, visit the Van Gogh museum, and people watch in sidewalk cafes, browse through local shops and discover local hidden gems.

I'm banking all the insider info I can right now, so if you have a favorite spot in Amsterdam, please let me know!

Back to School

Classes may almost be out for summer, but I find myself addicted to the schoolyard-chic of the satchel bag. It's utilitarian, functional, with the prefect combination of preppy with a side of attitude.

I officially want.

And the trend means there are lots of lovely options available, in various colors, textures and labels, some more economical than others of course. I think I'd look smart with any of these options though!

Monday Work Wear {Euro-Edition}

What is universally cool, classic and flattering? The Parisian sailor stripe. You just cannot go wrong.

And that's exactly what you need on a Monday morning, right? A new week shouldn't be any harder than necessary.

Happy Monday luvies!

Happy {Recovery} Weekend!

My dears, it's been a bit of a rough week so I think I'm going to retire early and rest well this weekend.

I've got to get my energy back for our European honeymoon - it's only two weeks away. I'll be sharing much of my planning next week and hopefully more wedding pics as well.

Happy weekend luvies!

Happy almost Friday luvies!

Down for the Count

My dears, I'm so sorry but I woke up feeling totally under the weather this morning. My pretty little head just refuses to leave the pillow!

I hope to be back at it a bit later today!

I'm Loving...

This al' natural chandelier.

Especially as it dangles above a succulent covered table.

Monday Work Wear {Gary Graham}

I've been on the hunt for that perfect mix of comfort and ease that is sumptuously simple and slightly glam (haven't we all). You can look no further than the Gary Graham Spring 2010 collection. I can't tear myself away!

Especially when the line combines gorgeous design with my favorite color palette of neutrals.

And greys - yummy yum.

But I've pledged to go for more color this spring - I'd love to keep my promise with that stunning red dress! Check out the entire spring line here - you won't be disappointed.

Happy Monday luvies.

Happy {Bridal Fantasy} Weekend!

Well my dears this is it - I've extended our wedding celebration out as far as is humanly possible and now we've finally reached the end.

This weekend is my hometown wedding reception. I'll finally get to party with all of my extended (and new!) family and dear dear friends. It is the last time I'll put on my wedding dress. And it is the first big party I'll throw with my husband! I can't wait!!

I promise, promise, promise I'll share pictures of everything when I get them. Trust me, I'm dying to see them myself.

In the meantime, I hope you have a ball this weekend too luvies.

Cheers,
*Mrs. E

Do You Dare?

The trend graced runways at Burberry and even Oscar de la Renta and now you're spotting it on many a fashionable foot. I'm talking about tights/socks with sandals.

Great not-quite-warm-enough-to-wear-open-toed-alternative, or, major fashion faux pas? I'm torn...or maybe just a little timid. Do you dare try it??
