In Case of Rain

I need this coat.

It's by Corpus from one of my favorite Pac NW shops, Frances May. PS, they're having a sale!

Fashionable Pads

If I'm going to have shoes for everyone room in my house, I might as well have an ensemble to go with them.

I continue to be on a kick for color, but I like it in subtle ways - both in fashion and in decor. The summer seems to bring out my affinity for oranges, blues and pops of greens that general fade back to my neutral palette come fall. I better enjoy it while it lasts!

Feeling the Love

Feeding the wedding photo addiction and I came across an amazing engagement session at Green Wedding Shoes (one of my absolute faves).

It was just too lovely not to share. I will do my best to keep the obession to a minimum though (yeah right!) You can see more gorgeous work here.

Monday Work Wear

Some sartorial inspiration for a Monday morning from my two favorite cities in the world.

And Seattle!

I may be the last one to the party, but I just discovered Le 21eme Arrondissement, the street style site capturing people in Seattle with actual style. Who knew!

Light It Up

Summer is in full force and it has everyone thinking about dining al fresco. It's amazing how adding a string or two of twinkle lights turns a picnic into a a celebration.

Have you ever noticed how food just seems to taste better when you eat it outside?

Deep Hues

From the kitchen to the bedroom there should be a shoe for every room in your house.

At least in my world there should be.

Guilty Pleasure

I have a confession to make. Hello, my name is Erin and I'm a wedding photography addict.

I simply cannot get enough. And while there are thousands of fabulous photographers, millions of gorgeous weddings and hundreds of blogs that document them, I couldn't resist sharing this one with you.

Shot by Mark Brooke photographers (husband and wife themselves I believe) at the uber-cool venue the Smog Shoppe in LA, the rockin' couple, the color-saturated setting and funky pics couldn't be better matched. Enjoy!

I'm Excited...

For Tim Burton's take on Alice in Wonderland.

I must have watched that movie 100 times growing up. Vogue glamorized the story back in 2003.

The grown up version is going to be so fun. Too bad we have to wait until March of 2010!

Blown About

I'm feeling a bit tossed around by the whims of the world this morning.

Once I get myself righted I'll be back with some fun finds.

Monday Work Wear

The 2010 Resort collections may be meant for boats, beaches and exotic locales but I think any of these looks would make a Monday morning a lot easier to face.

I mean, if you're like me and stay-cationing this summer we should at least look good while we're doing it.

Happy {Wandering} Weekend

I've been hearing and seeing and envying people going on some fabulous trips to places like Italy, Paris and London lately.

I was daydreaming about my own European-adventures when I ran across this lovely image at Madchen blogt - a wonderful accounting of a girl's life in the Netherlands. Being of dutch-heritage I was immediately drawn to the photo but the picture took on a whole new meaning for me when I attended my cousin's wedding last weekend and my 89-year old grandmother announced to the crowd "If you ain't Dutch, you ain't much!"

'Nuff said. Happy weekend all!

A Mixed Bag

I, like a lot of women I suspect, have a weakness for purses.  They're like throw pillows - you can change an entire look just by switching them out!

But even with my respectable collection I still haven't found the perfect carryall. You know, the giant, go anywhere, hold anything kind of bag. Something like this -

I began doing a little digging and found a few viable options. The first is the line of satchels by Property Of. They're actually a line of men's bags but they're all amazing and totally workable. These are my faves.

And if you want to go a little less utilitarian I'm also loving Moop's entire collection.

Their Market Bag in gunmetal grey above is particularly calling my name. You can check out Moop's store, their etsy shop or their blog

Delicious Kitchen

I have a definite preferred look when it comes to kitchens.

In my book, the bright light, butcher block counters, stunning open shelving and perfectly styled array of kitchen tools = perfection!

Fresh Faced

I'm loving the styling and eclectic looks of Megan Park.

A native Australian, Megan's ensembles make me want to head straight for the Aussie beaches, while the hot little number below, and knowing that Megan worked for Givenchy and Dries van Noten in London, makes me want to head out for a night on the town!
